Education
in Croatia
Primary school (osnovna skola) is free and compulsory up to the age
of eight. Secondary school (srednja skola) students can either choose
a three year technical course or move on to the gymnazija for further
studies and preparation for university. Students going on to university
after secondary education must pass a national examination in order
to be admitted. They may also take a further exam for specialised
studies such as law or medicine. Similar to the UK, studies at university
is free but students are responsible for their own living expenses.
There are four universities in Croatia;
Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka and Split. |
